Private Music Therapy
Private music therapy sessions are available for all ages. These sessions are client-centered, meaning that all the music and interventions are designed in a way to best meet the needs of the individual involved in therapy. These needs are identified by the participant, caregivers, other health care professionals and/or the music therapist.
Private Music Education
Private music education sessions are available for all ages and abilities. Sessions can include instruction on a single instrument/voice, multiple instruments, theory, and/or composition. Students engaged in private music education sessions must demonstrate a high-level interest for their instrument and commitment to practicing and attending sessions regularly.
Specialized Music Program
These programs meet the criteria for passport and some of the OAP funding, which has allows many more individuals to engage in a positive recreational music program. This program does not include assessments or treatment goals. Specialized Music Programs are geared towards the individuals that are participating and helps them to develop and maintain musical skills while having a positive experience.
We are pleased to be able to offer online support to our clients and create custom programs for new clients. While there are differences from in-person sessions, it is amazing to see the many benefits that our clients receive.
Online music therapy sessions and the Specialized Music Program primarily take place on a a secure "telemedicine" platform which ensures that all sessions are confidential (it complies with PHIPA/PIPEDA requirements). It can be used for 1:1 sessions and groups. The high quality video and audio allows for interaction between the therapist and the people participating. It is simple to use - just click on the link that is sent to you after you book your session and it will open up in your web browser.
Organizations can arrange for sessions to take place on other platforms such as Facebook LIVE, Zoom, or custom video files.
